The Paperwork Burden Reduction Act was signed into law on December 23, 2024. Applicable large employers (ALEs) and employers of any size with self-insured plans (e.g., health reimbursement arrangements) no longer have to send Form 1095-C (for ALEs) or 1095-B (for self-insured plans) to covered individuals unless a form is requested. Employers have to give notice to employees of their option to request a form, and if the request is made (which can be done online), then send it by January 31, or 30 days after the date of the request, whichever is later. #IdeaoftheDay
