Remembering President Lincoln’s Birthday

Prior to enactment of the Monday Holiday Act in 1968 creating Presidents Day (February 17th this year), February 12—the date of Lincoln’s birthday—used to be a federal holiday (it’s still a holiday or observance in more than half a dozen states about 5 states). For small business owners, it’s a good idea to remember Lincoln failed as an entrepreneur in 1833, but ultimately succeeded in life. He said: “That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise.” #IdeaoftheDay
