Portrait of America’s Freelancers and Self-employed Individuals

According to a report by FlyFin, there are 59 million people working in the U.S. as freelancers or are otherwise self-employed, producing $1.3 trillion in annual earnings in 2021 ($100,000 million more than in the previous year). These individuals make up 36% of the entire labor force. Earnings vary widely by industry. Interesting facts: 28% of freelancers also have W-2 jobs, 78% work from home, 93% travel for business and 23% earn money through investments. #IdeaoftheDay
