High deductible health plans (HDHPs), which are a prerequisite to contributing to a health savings account, were permitted under the CARES Act to allow telehealth to be provided without a deductible. Unless Congress acts, starting January 1, 2022, telehealth services must have a cost. If not, then health plans don’t qualify as HDHPs and no HSA contributions will be permitted. #IdeaoftheDay
