May and June are months to celebrate moms and dads. A global study from 99Designs found that women face more challenges in balancing the roles of parent and entrepreneur.
Examples: 30% of moms who are entrepreneurs put in 50+ hours of childcare each week (essentially a full-time second career), compared with 10% of dad-entrepreneurs.
Women with children are more likely to be running a business with much less funding (47% of fathers report having raised over $50,000 of external capital for their businesses vs. just 28% of mothers).
