Tax Deadline

Today is the deadline for filing your 2018 personal income tax return or an extension for it. It’s also the deadline for filing Form 1120 for calendar-year C corporations. For those in Maine and Massachusetts, the deadline is April 17. Today is also the due date for filing an FBAR report with the Treasury (not the IRS) for foreign financial accounts. And today is the due date for the first installment of 2019 estimated taxes. Note: Getting a filing extension for Form 1040 doesn’t give you more time to pay 2018 taxes or to make your 2019 estimated tax payment; use EFTPS.gov  to make tax payments electronically (there’s no government fee for using this service).
